Amazing People Sewing to Save Lives

If you do not sew or you have not been in a situation where you are in desperate need of personal protective equipment you are probably not even aware of an amazing movement that is happening throughout Canada and all over the world.

As the COVID 19 virus began to spread and people began to realize that there was a massive shortage of personal protective equipment for our health care workers something amazing began to happen.  People dusted off their sewing machines and took out their fabric stashes and started sewing.  Several groups began to organize to make sure the people who needed this equipment the most received it first.  Canada Sews is just one of may organized groups which not has 3,152 members who sew everything from caps, gowns to face masks.

The best part of this is that nobody asked these people to do this.  They are not being paid and in most cases, the volunteers are purchasing their own supplies out of their own pockets.  The need has grown as the virus has spread and these people are working tirelessly to keep people safe.
